How do we create innovative places to live and work that are also sustainable and climate-friendly? The Valley building in Amsterdam combines apartments, offices, shops, catering and cultural facilities, and is accessible to the public. 7000 sensors measure temperature, levels of CO2 and light, controlling energy use with help from Valley’s smart climate-controlled ceilings. All this and much more earned Valley the Emporis Skyward Award in 2021.
