Words Have Power

Activism – 6 min

Words Have Power addresses diversity, justice, equity, the health consequences of fossil fuel use and the courage to speak out. Ten-year-old Jaysa, from Bridgeport, Connecticut, has asthma and wonders why the landfill, sewage treatment plant and coal-fired power plants are all in her neighborhood. Could it be a “case of environmental racism?” She rallies the community and helps get the power plant shut down and realized that “words have power.”
