The satisfaction with democracy has plummeted and people in developed countries are losing faith in their democratic system. It seems as though democratic institutions are failing to tackle important crises of our era. Although in smaller democracies there are detections of higher satisfaction rates than ever before in their democracy. Studies have shown in those experiencing a troubling democracy are more likely to choose extremist politicians who promise change.
