Addiction & Art: Spotlight on Dopamine
People – 7 min
The visual arts team up with science to promote needed dialogue about substance abuse and addiction. Moving beyond addiction as a “weakness” or “moral failing” this informative series, filmed in an 1800s one room school house, encourages prevention and early intervention. This first presentation explains the importance of dopamine, (a brain neurotransmitter regulating pleasure) and how it can be hijacked by drugs and alcohol.
