What’s the Connection Between Hurricanes and Climate Change?

Science & Technology – 2 min

Storms that qualify as rapid intensification events have been increasing in recent years. A recent study revealed that US coastlines could see a sea level rise to a foot by 2050. The report also found that sea level rises will continue to create a dramatic increase in the frequency of coastal flooding. Scientists believe that warmer water temperatures and rising sea levels can be attributed to climate change. Rising sea levels mean we must protect our coastal communities now and cut the greenhouse gasses that cause climate change.
